that has a fun video link about a neighborhood there called Mouraria. This neighborhood is near Alfama and looks like one of the older parts of Lisbon that has a connection to Fado, a type of music and singing that is very famous. Here is a video in Portuguese about the neighborhood. I wish I could understand what everyone is saying !

Hello, Diane! I love so much european cities and little towns, old streets and people who live there! Mouraria is very interesting place. Video talks about it. I'd like to see these neighborhoods my own eyes. I hope and wish that you'll be enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHi Katia ! Nice to hear from you !!! I went to this neighborhood to have dinner and listen to fado at the place they show in the video. It was so interesting. I'll try and post some pics and maybe some video if I can figure that out. The neighborhood is fascinating. Lots of hidden alleys and plazas and elegant old buildings as well as some poorer houses and buildings. I'd like to go back and get to know this place better. My two friends really liked going there - it feels very authentic and real, not touristy. I hope you are enjoying summer in SF. Thanks very much for reading and commenting on my blog !!!
